Academics vs. Athletics: Not Even Close

On June 3, 2014, the University of Alabama Board of Trustees announced a contract extension for football coach Nick Saban who will make $6.9 million in 2014. Saban is the highest paid football coach in the country, but he trails Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, who made $9.6 million in 2014, according to the USA Today database of college coaching salaries.
